Voronoi Particle Dynamics for meso-scale fluidics

Many interesting bio- and nano-engineering application require numerical modeling of micro-fluidics. However, continuum models do not take to account various relevant effects such as Brownian motion. For micro-fluidics industrial modeling molecular approach is too complex and computationally too expensive. Hence, meso-scale model is the most suitable. Presented here approach is based on Voronoi Particle Dynamics. One particle contains a cluster of atoms. The molecular information lost during the coarse graining process is compensated by stochastic dissipation term. Such model allows in a simple and computationally efficient way to simulate complex flows with immersed structures (such as polymers or DNA).
